This flavorful, lenient Basic Sourdough Bread Recipe was initially established for the bread machine; we’ve nipped it here for those of you without a machine. To bake sour bread using ‘starter’ mixture is a must and it takes the place of yeast. It takes about 5 days to make starter mixture, but once you done, it can be used as and when needed.

Instructions
-
- Mix all the ingredients well by hand (15 to 20 minutes) or using a mixer (7 to 10 minutes) to come up with fluffy, level dough.
- Put this dough in a bowl lightly lubricated with oil.
- In about 45 to 60 minutes it will rise, approximately doubled in bulk.
- Take loaf pan(9″ x 5″) and lightly grease it.
- Apply light greasing over the kitchen slab surface, gently shift the dough, and make it a 7-8″ log.
- Place the log in the previously lubricated pan and cover it for about 1 to 1.5 hours to rise, until it rises about one inch above the corners of the pan.
- Oven should be preheated @300-400°F.
- Start your baking for about one hour, until it turns lightish golden colour and having an internal temperature of 190°F (using digital thermometer inserted).
- Take out the bread and shift it out of the pan (after about 3-4 minutes) onto a frame for cooling.
- Store it at room temperature well-wrapped for as long as you want or otherwise freeze for a much prolonged storage.
